Day 1 Saturday 26 April - Benvenuto!
We begin our adventure in an impossibly charming boutique hotel in gorgeous
Santa Margherita Ligure where direct views of the calm sea set the tone for our stay.
Our personal our assistant will be waiting to tell us all about our upcoming journey.
We’ll check in, relax after our travel day and start feeling the Italian way of life
at our welcome dinner at the wonderful restaurant at the hotel.
Then a taste of La Dolce Far Niente (the sweet art of doing nothing)
which is just perfect after a long flight!
Meals included: dinner
Day 2 Sunday 27 April - Portofino and Beyond
We can't (and shouldn't) skip ALL the hotspots!
There are good reasons why they are popular. Portofino is spectacular.
We travel by ferry to picturesque Portofino and surrounding less-frequented villages
where the idyllic charm of coastal Italy is revealed. Then we will reach by boat the
fascinating village of San Fruttuoso an amazing cove with a Medieval abbey
built right on the beach, restored and protected by FAI, the Italian National Trust.
Here, we'll indulge in authentic local cuisine and wines, each dish a
celebration of commitment to Liguria's unique culinary heritage.
Then back to Santa Margherita by ferry in the afternoon for some leisurely free time
for the rest of the evening. A great time for a paseggiata and aperitivo by the sea
or simply relaxing on the gorgeous hotel grounds (or both!)
Meals included: breakfast, lunch
Day 3 Monday 28 April - Rapallo Food Tour and Pesto Class
After breakfast, reach Rapallo with a private transfer. Here, we will meet our host
Guido (you are going to LOVE him!) and start with a welcome Aperitivo. Then we head to his emporium
filled with local specialties and learn to make pesto with mortar and pestle. The tour continues
through the narrow alleys of the picturesque old center of Rapallo towards the vibrant
food market to get to know the ingredients of the local cuisine. Then we'll discover
the traditional shops, from the artisanal pasta factory to the focaccia bakery
and many other "bottegas" where we will have our tastebuds delighted with
local delicacies. We end with a refreshing gelato. Ahhhhh. Perfection.
In the afternoon, enjoy some time on your own to take a stroll
on the beautiful sea promenadebefore heading back to Santa Margherita.
Roundtrip private transfer.

Day 4 Tuesday 29 April - Be Charmed by Genoa's Authenticity
After breakfast, private transfer to Genoa. Here your private tour guide waits for you
to let you discover Genoa with an insider’s perspective. Wandering through the “Carrugi”
alleys is a unique experience and we believe that by just walking through this maze
of historical streets, you’ll find the “real” Genoa essence. You’ll discover
the largest medieval old town in Europe, walk along its narrow alleyways,
stop in the squares and in the Renaissance streets of the historical town.
You’ll walk in Via Garibaldi, a Unesco World Heritage Site which will leave you speechless
with its painted palaces built by noble families in the XV century. You will be charmed
by the contrasts and the authenticity of the town and visit some traditional shops passed down
from generations, where it looks like stepping back in time. At lunch,
you will enter a traditional trattoria and taste local specialties such as vegetable pies
and fried anchovies. In the afternoon you will continue to explore this fascinating town
and have some free time before going back to Santa Margherita.
Back to Santa Margherita Ligure in the afternoon. Roundtrip private transfer.
Meals included: breakfast, lunch
Day 5 Wednesday 30 April - The Spirit of Chiavari
Today, after breakfast, with your tour guide you’ll explore the Cinque Terre villages.
Spend the morning visiting Vernazza and Manarola, two of the most iconic villages.
At lunch reach a gorgeous wine estate nestled just above the village of Monterosso.
It’s a true oasis of peace and tranquility where surrounded by vineyards and olive trees,
you will enjoy a lunch with local specialties paired with the excellent Cinque Terre wines.
Take your time to relax on the lawn sipping a Limoncino prepared with the lemons you see around you.
In the afternoon, take a walk through the narrow streets of the village of Monterosso
until you reach the bright promenade and the Capuchin convent from which you will enjoy
a magnificent view of the bay.
Full day roundtrip transfer with private driver. Transfers between the Cinque Terre villages by train.
Meals included: breakfast, lunch
Day 6 Thursday 1 May - Olive Oil and Picturesque Camogli
In the morning, enjoy an exclusive and sustainable experience on the slopes of Portofino Mountain.
You will be welcomed in the olive farm of a local family, who has resumed with passion
the traditional activity of olive growing and oil making. The location is breathtaking:
a beautiful country estate surrounded by terraced gardens and olive trees.
From here the view extends over the whole Gulf of Portofino. And it will be just for you since
the family opens the doors of their gorgeous house just for our guests. Accompanied by the producer,
you will have an exclusive and private tour among the olive groves of this authentic farm
and taste the unique olive oil they produce. You will know more about the Ligurian olive oil
and the huge job of this family to recover the abandoned lands. In the patio of
the beautiful villa overlooking the gulf, you will learn about traditional recipes passed down
from generations and enjoy a light lunch with local specialties in front of a magnificent view.
In the afternoon you will reach the super picturesque fishing village of Camogli
that will fascinate you with its row of tall and colourful fishermen’s houses and the tiny port.
Meals included: breakfast, light lunch
Day 7 Friday 2 May - Chiavari Artisans and Tastes
Today, after breakfast, you’ll discover the most authentic side of the Italian Riviera
just a few minutes away from the famous Portofino village. With your expert and passionate local guide,
discover Chiavari, a hidden gem not touched by tourism yet. Wander along the old alleyways
lined with ancient arcades. Explore the lively open-air food market and find old food shops
passed down from generations. Be charmed by the traditional artisans' shops like
the woodcarver or the producer of candles in a tradition five hundred years old.
Enjoy a relaxing pause in an old pastry shop and taste local cookies. Enter a traditional "Trattoria"
and taste the delicious Farinata, a sort of chickpea flour pancake that will delight your taste buds!
