Self-Guided Travel Services
Self-guided Tours are for savvy travelers who love to go it alone but want some great insider tips to help better inform their trip. You don’t need or want hand-holding but prefer to know your options and then make it happen.
This is a 5-business day email process.
First, we’ll have a conversation via email where you’ll answer questions about you and your travel companions because this trip is all about you and I want you to have an unforgettable and seamless experience. I’ll ask about things like your budget, your overall desires for your trip, your general interests like hiking or museums, how ambitious you are for packing in the sights or simply relaxing in a gorgeous setting.
Once I feel I have a good idea of what you’re looking for, I’ll send you our proposed general itinerary to make sure that we are all on the same page. I hope you will say, “she nailed it!” But if we need to, we will talk about things further or make a few changes until we get it just right. Once this is completed, you’ll have all the bones of the trip.
Once we agree and you’ve paid your deposit (½ of the $500 total) then I get into the fine details that really make the trip. I’ll recommend methods of transfer for you, starting with airport pickup and everything along the way. I’ll recommend exactly the kind of accommodations you’ve always dreamed of, whether that’s a charming farmhouse, a luxury villa, 5-star resort, or a tiny, tucked away bed and breakfast or other needs like accessibility, all based on our previous discussions about your budget and personal preferences. I will recommend only accommodations with availability for your dates of travel, so it’s important that you’ve already booked your flight dates.
Then I get into my favorite part—eating and drinking! Whatever region(s) you visit, one of the greatest delights of traveling is the food and beverage. Based on the preferences we previously discussed I will recommend to you the most notable foods and wines of the regions, restaurants, cafes, wineries, wine bars, and even specialty food producers and cooking classes (this can, of course, include fully non-alcoholic options and/or craft breweries, distilleries and notable cocktail bars and coffee houses.) And I will make any recommendations for other activities that interest you like hiking, sailing, shopping, scuba, etc.
Before you leave for your trip, I will provide you with a handy checklist of important things to keep in mind along with pertinent general travel information and destination information… practical items like insurance, local customs, some helpful phrases, and what maps will be useful for you. And I will provide you with direct links (where available) to all of our recommendations and/or Names, email and phone numbers along with addresses. I will send one final confirmation email to make sure you are totally satisfied with all of the information I send you. Let’s get started!
Air travel is not included in any of my travel services; however, as an add-on to the Luxury Experience, I can book your airfare for you for an additional fee of $150 per person.
